The Frye's Mill Gift Shop
Unique Items, Antiques and Tours
lan a visit, take a tour, wander through our shop...and through history...
Housed in a portion of the old sawmill, our seven room shop offers the visitor a rare opportunity of finding high-quality crafts, creatively
displayed in an antique setting. Folk art from some of the country's top rated artisans, colonial tinware, hand-blown glass, pottery, period lighting, pewter, hand-forged ironware, antiques and collectibles are just some of the items that accent the woodenware in our Museum Shop.
Artists and Decorators! An assorted supply of markdowns and seconds are always available in the mill shop's back room.

MILL TOURS

Daniel Cragin (owner 1850-1901) and Whitney Frye's (owner 1909-1960) original water-power system and boxmaking machinery dating from the 1850's can be seen in operation on our mill tours; conducted June through October at 2pm on Saturdays. Former owner (1961-1981) and master boxmaker Harland Savage brings the past alive as he reminisces on his working years with Whitney Frye, demonstrates early woodworking and carding machinery, and completes the 1 1/2 hour tour with a visit upstairs to the old mill print shop. Reservations are recommended.
Antique fire trucks and firefighting apparatus can be viewed across the mill yard in the mill garage, while throughout the summer and fall, special demonstrations in blacksmithing and tinsmithing are scheduled at the Frye Mill Forge. (Call for details.)
