Tinder Box

In Colonial times the precious pieces necessary to start a fire; matches or flint, tiny bits of twig or fiber, and candles were safely guarded in special containers. The Frye's Measure Mill Tinder Box is designed with wood tinder bits, matches, candles, and holder all snugly fitting in an oblong box. A tin candle holder, handcrafted by a new England tinsmith, is fastened into the inside cover. Design P. Savage (c)1992.
